VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable for PC Video Reviews

This cable will not and is not supposed to connect a pc/mac/desktop/laptop to a TV.
even if you have TV out capabilities on your video card and the software to support it, this product will not work! It is not meant to link a computer to a TV.
do not buy this product if you are trying to hook up your computer to your TV. It will not work.
With out even trying it out, you can tell it will not work simply because the RCA cables have all 3 components two of which are audio! your VGA port on your computer is video only! this product is extremely misleading and is very attractive due to the price. Do not be fooled and do not waste your money!
you have been warned.

Despite the negative reviews I bought one of these. I thought, "These people probably don't know what they're doing I'll be fine." I tried the cable with my laptop which was the reason I bought it and, like others, my laptop said it couldn't find an external monitor. I have used the vga on my monitor to connect directly to my HDTV before just fine so I knew it should work. I tried using the s-video end as well as the RCA end (trying both the yellow cable and connecting all three despite the fact that VGA doesn't transmit audio) both with no luck.
The only 5 star review for this product says that you need to support TV Out (my laptop does) and that you need software (my laptop should). Taking my testing one step further I tried to use this product with my GTX260 a fairly new graphics card on my desktop computer and it still did not work.
I think I can confidently say that this product (and possibly all similar products) does not work. There are only two slightly positive reviews for this product and neither of them provide any form of helpful information for how to get it to work. I think amazon should remove the product from the website as it does not work for the majority of purchasers, if at all.

VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable for PC Video Reviews

This is the SECOND product in a week that I've ordered from this place, and I am never doing so again.
Both products did NOT work, and if they did even produce any kind of actions, they weren't proper.
I highly recommend not buying any kinds of cords from this place.
They're just going to screw you over.

LeapFrog ClickStart My First Computer Adapter Reviews

Purchased the 'Click Start - My First Computer', and after opening, noticed the main base needed large batteries or an AC adapter, while the keyboard needed batteries, ( Keyboard uses only AA+ ), as well. So, if you are thinking of purchasing the Click Start - you may wish to go the extra mile and get an adapter as well - Will save on having to get batteries for both! 1-2-3 connect it and let the fun of learning begin!

The adapter really is a must have for the clickstart. You can use batteries, but it takes four at a time, and it's really not worth the hassle. I bought the cheapest batteries I could find, and it still cost me two bucks. I only did that because Walmart didn't have the adapter avail and I didn't want to make my child wait a week for this to ship. Keep in mind, the keyboard still requires batteries and doesn't have the option for an adapter, but that uses less power. I'll just use rechargables for it. So, I figure w/in a month, the adapter will pay for itself.

AVerMedia QuickPlay PC-to-TV Scan Converter Reviews

This is simply the best priced adapter of it's kind. I purchased the AVerMedia QuickPlay origionally for my notebook computer so I could play movies from my computer onto my television. It's uses are limitless as anything on your computer screen can appear on your television, such as movies, computer games, photos, presentations, and you can even use your TV as an extended monitor to do play these things on while having full use of your regular desktop at the same time! The adapter comes with component (Pr,Pb,Y) and S-Video hookups for your television (the Y of the component can be used for standard RCA Video-In on composit TV's.) There is a VGA passthrough cable to hook up your computer monitor as well. The whole adapter is powered through a usb cable (used for power only, you do not need to install any software,) which is perfect for mobile computing users. There's 3 levels of anti-flicker protection and three levels of adjustable contrast, as well as a button for shrinking or filling the frame of your TV and ones for positioning it.

If your goal is to watch movies, it's OK toy. I've got it to watch Netflix instant movies. Can watch them on a laptop, but it's much more relaxing to watch movies on TV screen. What you need to know about this device - you would need to spend money on additional cables.
I connect the QuickPlay convertor to my laptop VGA port, the USB port connection will provide power supply.
My TV has both - component video and S-video. The guys at computer store told me, that component video works better.
So I decided to go with component video. So if you decide to do that, the cables you would need:
Component video cables (3 in one or three separate) - green, blue and red. They would need to have mail connectors on both sides of the cable, they will connect to Pr, Pb anf Y ports on your TV and on QuickPlay.
This is for video. Then you would need an audio cable to connect your laptop audio port(one connector) to two audio ports on your TV (White and Red - to connectors). Radio Shack has these cables, they can be 6ft or 12 ft. I've got 12 ft - can have your laptop on a distance from TV.
Now, when you connect all cables, you would need to adjust your laptop resolution to 1024 by 768. My 32" TV has almost same resolution. The screen of TV has a little different proportion, the horisontal dimension is a little larger. You will see little empty areas on the TV screen on both sides of the screen when picture transferred from laptop screen to TV screen, because TV screen is longer.
One more thing to know after all cables are connected and laptop and TV are on - first, switch your TV to "Component Video" mode (it's usually on your remote TV/Video button), second - switch your laptop to "presentation" or "external display" mode (in most of the laptops it's fn/F7 combination of keys).
Ok - now you will see the picture on TV. It took me a while to figure it out. I hope, this review will help you to do it faster.
The picture is fine, it's max 32" TV resolution anyway. The only thing - when it's a dark picture, it's kind of dark green color instead of dark grey. May be it's just my TV.
Enjoy. I was watching Netflix after that with no problem.

Warpia Wireless USB PC to TV/Projector Display Adapter Kit (Video Only) Reviews

I am so impressed with the product. You literally plug and play just as the instructions show. However, I did have some (user error) difficulties. I went to the Warpia website and emailed technical support with my problem and my telephone #. Almost immediately Marc called me. We did some trouble shooting and fixed the issue within minutes (The issue: I removed the device adapter from the video base and put it back in and then it worked just fine). Afterwards, Marc walked me through some of the features which I was not expecting but really appreciated.
The display is crisp and clean with no glitches or breaking. Audio is not included in this version but it's all good. I hook up my Monsoon speakers and I feel like I'm at the movies.
On another note, this will make an excellent gift for my mother! It's inexpensive and I'm sure she'll appreciate being able to see on the big screen.
In closing, the set up is easy and the customer service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to display their PC to their HD television without all of the messy wires.

I've been looking for a way to watch Hulu and other online content streamed from my pc to my tv (so that I can watch stuff with the wife and friends). I didn't want to have a cable cluttering up our room. This adapter is really awesome. Totally does the job.
Setup was easy and the product works so well that within a couple of days we have totally begun to take it for granted. Our tv viewing now consists of browsing the web, choosing a program and hitting play.
Can't wait for audio (which is the only drawback at the moment) although I read that it is coming.
